Roadside sculptures
The verges and roundabouts west of the circuit carry sculpture. White marble stelae on beds of gravel: a stack of rough slabs with a drum lying on top, a tall slab split by an oval hole, an upright disc like a millstone, a granite cube balanced on one corner with a tunnel through it. The word Yas in thick granite letters, a curved stone blade on the Yas Plaza roundabout, and by Ferrari World a long ridge of mirror-polished steel crystals that reflect the sky. At the Yas Links clubhouse, a tiled fountain in the drop-off loop, lit until midnight, and a red sports car parked by the door.
